Conference on Frontiers in Structural Macroeconomic Modeling

The Global COE Program, Research Unit for Statistical and Empirical Analysis in Social Sciences (Hi-Stat), Hitotsubashi University and the Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies, Bank of Japan, in collaboration with the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, will host a conference on "Frontiers in Structural Macroeconomic Modeling: Thirty Years after 'Macroeconomics and Reality' and Five Years after 'Nominal Rigidities and the Dynamic Effects of a Shock to Monetary Policy'" on January 23-24, 2010 at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo.

This conference will serve as a forum for original research on recent developments in structural macroeconomic modeling. The organizers welcome submissions on a broad range of topics associated with macroeconomic modeling. The organizing committee consists of Ippei Fujiwara (Bank of Japan), Michel Juillard (Bank of France and CEPREMAP), Shigenori Shiratsuka (Bank of Japan) and Toshiaki Watanabe (Hitotsubashi University).

Workshop in Honor of Stephen J. Turnovsky

The Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), Vienna and the Society for Computational Economics (SCE) will sponsor a Workshop in honor of Stephen J. Turnovsky, Castor Professor at the University of Washington and former editor of the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.

The Workshop will take place May 20-22, 2010 at IHS Vienna, with selected papers to appear in a special issue of the JEDC edited by Walter H. Fisher of IHS and Kenneth M. Kletzer of the University of California at Santa Cruz.
